‘Let’s Talk … About Depression’

Last week I posted a lengthy SOS to my readers, friends, and colleagues. It was a survey of interest and needs that I hope will guide my development of a new book focused on communication – for those who cope with this illness.

I had some wonderful responses – including one from a best selling author friend, whom I greatly admire. She asked if I would consider asking just one question at a time – advising that those who experience depression (either as a sufferer or as caring ‘others’) could find the questions complex and overwhelming when considered in mass. I agreed.

I plan to present one question per week for your consideration. I may not tackle them in their original order – and I may supplement inquiries to stimulate commentary – or to clarify points that are expressed.

Here is my first in a series of questions that I will post weekly:

  1. What would you most like to know about communicating your needs (or your support), as you grapple with depression? (e.g., What part of communication may be especially hard for you on this topic?)

As promised, I will send two Thank You gifts/articles (‘Journey Through Grief’; & ‘The Sounds of Silence’) to all who share their thoughts with me – and provide their email address. Feel free to use my email address – or to send a private message on Facebook.

ALL responses will be entered in a drawing for a free copy of my book OVERCOME DEPRESSION: Strategies from Science and Scripture. Drawing will be held on Sept. 1, 2020.

Depression is NOT a sin, a character flaw, or a thing to be ashamed of… Let’s Talk!

Blessings, Love and Laughter to you,
