What About Depression? Let’s Talk …

As I have posted, my new book will focus on communication needs and strategies for those suffering from depression, and for those who care for them.

I have much to share in planned topics – but want to be sure I include questions and subjects of real value, that I might have missed. So, I asked you to share your thoughts with me.

I’ve received some great questions, requests, and suggestions such as:

  • “Depression creates confusion in myself and in my relationship What can I do to help me figure out what I need or don’t need?”
  • “How can I calm down enough to think?”
  • “How can I handle feeling defensive?”
  • “How can I ask questions without putting my loved one on the defense?”
  • “I need some good clarification strategies for when communication misfires.”
  • “I think there should be a whole section for the loved ones of sufferers on their own self-care, and strategies to help, as they are so saddened by their loved ones’ struggles.”

Here is my question for this week:

What experience have you had (or observed) that could have been easier, more helpful, less awkward or painful if the parties involved understood more, or had strategies to help them through it? (Think about both sides –the sufferer and/or a caring ‘other’.)

Feel free to share other thoughts with me as well. I am interested in all comments. You may have a topic that I have not thought to question.

I will send two Thank You gifts (‘Journey Through Grief; The Sounds of Silence) to all who share their thoughts with me – and provide their email address.

ALL responses will be entered in a drawing for a free copy of my 1st. book (OVERCOME DEPRESSION: Strategies from Science & Scripture). The drawing will be held Sept. 1, 2020.

Depression is NOT a sin, a character flaw, or thing to be ashamed of… Let’s Talk!

Blessings, Love and Laughter to you,

  1. I think there should be a section with strategies on how to communicate what you are feeling without starting a war.
